Harvington 1st x1 were denied victory at Himley on Saturday by a stubborn lower order from the home side on a slow low wicket. After losing the toss Harvington amassed 259 - 6 in 50 over, Jaimen Rudd 81 not out, Dave Waters 61 and Jamie Anderson with a quickfire 40 were the batting stars. Harvingtons new ball attack of Jo Venter and Ben Hawker soon had the home side reeling at 34 - 7 , with 4 wickets for Venter , 2 for Hawker. This brought the experienced home skipper Ali Harris to the crease who was determined to deny Harvington victory rather than attempt to chase the winning score. He was ably supported by youngster Cox as Harvington use 9 bowlers in an attempt to make the vital breakthrough. Unfortunately this was not possible as Harris fininshed on an unbeaten 89 to frustrate Harvington who still picked up 17 points for a winning draw. These leaves Harvington in 2nd place, the team travel to Himbleton on Saturday. Harvington 2nds dissapointingly lost the reverse fixture with Himley by 8 wickets. Batting first Harvingtons batters were gulity of giving their wickets away as the crumbled to 113 not out. Sam Bannister top scored with 27 and then followed it up with 15 overs 2 for 30 as Himley were made to work hard to reach their victory target. On Sunday Harvington comfortably beat Exhall, following his hatrick last week 12 year old Ryan Blakemore notched his maiden 50 to complete a remarkable couple of weeks for someone of his age. There was also a 50 for Andrew Fisher and 4 wickets for Paul Towey as Harvington completed a comfortable 98 run victory.
