Off to a flyer

The first set of pre-season warm up games saw the Herons comprehensively beat Gt. Alne and Blockley. Batting first Gt. Alne managed 146 all out with only Steve Temple making a significent contribution with the games top score of 76*. The pick of the bowlers was Adam Lee with 7 wickets in a devastating 2 spell workout. In reply The Herons knocked off the total for the loss of 3 wickets with new skipper Simon Price scoring  his maiden Harvington 50. Worth noting was the `keeping of Pete Smith who improves with every game and had a tidy day behind the stumps.

The Blockley game continued to show the promising start made by the new bowling attack with Andy Knowles being the pick with 4 wickets. 2 for McCelvie, Lee and Towey restricted the visitors to 83 all out chasing The Herons unconvincing score of 109 all out. Only opener Andy Green made any significent contribution with 46.
