Well halfway through the season and the firsts are up to 2nd. Admittedly we have had the best conditions of two rain affected wins vs Winchcombe and Tanworth. Bretforton 2nds remain clear at the top, with in my opinion, the best team we have played, Bearley, behind us in 3rd. All to play for!! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will see the return to fitness of seamers Dave Waters and Adam Lee which will give our bowling attack a bit more of an edge which we desperately missed in or defeat to Stanway. We also now have the bonus of private school boys Coleman, Davis and Harding to strengthen the club.

The 2nds results despite some encouraging performances have on the whole been disappointing , with only one batsman reaching 50 in the first half of the season. Young seamers Jack Smout and Jethro Chadwick have bowled well over the past few weeks. As I'm sure most of you are aware Stuey Powell has taken over the captaincy over the side in the past week and I wish him luck.

The Under 16s have reached the quarter finals of the Cotswold Hills League and are due to play Tewkesbury shortly.

20/20 day on August 3rd, if you are available to play in this then you need to put your name on the poster in the clubhouse as the team will be selected from those available on the list. This year we aim to win this for the first time!

The Under 15's have entered a 6 a side at Penn cc on August 10th, this is a prestigious 8 team tournament and those involve in our 8 man squad I shall contact.

Practices continue on Friday night and it would be good to see more of you there, numbers are usually between 15 -20 but there are still a few notables missing!!
